Giving

Thank you for your generosity!

We believe that everything we have comes from God, and that giving is part of our response to him. We want to do what he wants with all areas of our lives, including our money; it is the generosity of the church family that enables us to pursue our vision.

For more about our church’s approach to finances, please listen to this recent sermon on giving:

How to give

The best way to give is online, via the Parish Giving Scheme, for the following reasons:

  1. Regular monthly giving helps us to plan and budget more effectively.

  2. The Parish Giving Scheme is offered free via the Church of England, so we receive 100% of your donation.

  3. Gift Aid is automatically collected for us and paid monthly, saving us time on administration and improving our cashflow.

  4. It’s easy to manage your giving online - there’s even the option to automatically increase your gift annually, which protects against inflation.

Legacies

Gifts from legacies can make an enormous difference to the life of the church and the impact on our local community. See the Church of England’s website for more information.

You can include the church within your will by the addition of a straightforward clause, using the following wording:

“I give ____% of my residuary estate free of all taxes to the Parochial Church Council of the Parish of Melksham (registered charity number 1138038) in the Diocese of Salisbury for its general purposes, and I declare that the receipt of an officer of the Parochial Church Council shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors and trustees.”

 Gift Aid

Did you know that if you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid can be applied to any donation you make? Gift Aid increases the value of your donation by the basic rate tax of 25%, at no extra cost to you. If you are a UK taxpayer, please fill in the form below so that we can reclaim Gift Aid on your gift.
